The Acura line of upscale vehicles are manufactured by Honda and were first imported to the USA in 1986. Honda's attention was towards luxury, keying heavily on their dependability and reliability. By the mid 1990's, as these vehicles aged and were handed down to younger family members, popularity expanded because they were easy to tune, modify and customize. The street tuner market got a big boost when the NSX with it's 270 HP engine made it down to the younger generations.
In the 21st century, the focus has been towards capturing a larger portion on the European market, specifically BMW, with it's exciting styling, 300 HP V-6's and it's Super Handling - All Wheel Drive (SH-AWD).
The Acura popularity continues today, making maintenance and service a key factor in long life. Both vehicles shown below (and other Acura models) have won numerous awards.
