Dodge Brothers was founded in 1914 and located in Detroit, Michigan. In 1917, Dodge started producing their first trucks for use in WW1 and were popular after the war. In 1928, Dodge was bought by Walter P. Chrysler and became a division of the new Chrysler Corporation. The reputation of Chrysler's quality engineering fostered the growth and strength of Dodge.

The 1950 - 1970's muscle car era created a demand for Dodge products like none other. Their popularity rose not just for looks & style, but dependability and power. The use of the Hemi in several models by NASCAR (Richard Petty and others) proved to be a boon for Dodge. Unfortunately, the oil crisis of the 1970's meant the end of the Hemi until the technology of the 21st century came along.

In 1978 Dodge leaped into the front wheel drive market and never looked back. The Omni, Daytona and Aries vehicles revived Dodge (as well as the rest of Chrysler's divisions) because of the popularity of front wheel drive. The line up from Dodge since the new Ram was introduced in 1993 has been fantastic. It has been proven that with regular service and repairs, these vehicles can make it 200,000 miles.
