The Geo brand of vehicles were marketed by GM through their Chevrolet dealerships. All Geo models were manufacturing ventures with Japanese companies. The Prizm was with GM/Toyota, produced in Fremont California, the Metro & Tracker was with GM/Suzuki of Ingersoll, Canada and the Spectrum & Storm with GM/Isuzu of Japan.
They were all originally designed for the economical, sub-compact market and were very fuel efficient. In 1997, the Geo logo & name were changed over to Chevrolet and by 2004, with the market clamoring for big, powerful SUV's, manufacturing ceased (probably prematurely in our opinion when the fuel crunch of 2007-2008 came).
